I am a PhD student at ITQB NOVA in Oeiras (Portugal), working in the Laboratory of Molecular Microbiology of Human Pathogens under the supervision of Dr. Raquel Sá-Leão.

Driven by a passion for molecular microbiology, my PhD project focuses on discovering new antimicrobial peptides and evaluating their potential against Streptococcus pneumoniae. Ultimately, this work aims to develop new strategies to complement existing vaccines and antibiotics used to prevent/treat S. pneumoniae infections.
