I am a PhD researcher at the Sá-Leão lab, ITQB NOVA and I am also a professor at the Polytechnic University of Castelo Branco.

My research interests are focused on how pneumococcal strains interact with each other when co-colonizing the same host and how those interactions affect colonization dynamics.Specifically, I am interested in the pneumococcal interactions taking place within the biofilm environment and in the molecular mechanisms governing those interactions.
